Reinventing Delaware returns with $15K prize for best biz idea

Submissions for the idea showcase will be accepted through Sept. 30.

The Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation’s seventh annual Reinventing Delaware event returns for 2021 on Nov. 11.

At the invitation-only event, held at at CSC Station in Wilmington, 100 Delawareans will present their ideas to create jobs in the state and contribute to its economic development.

After the event, review committee will select the best ideas to participate in an idea development process. At the end of that process, one idea will be named the winner, which comes with a $15,000 award.

Past winners include NERDiT NOW, Zip Code Wilmington, WilmInvest, Wilmington Green Box, The Warehouse, FlyGATEWAY and Intern Delaware.

“Reinventing Delaware is one of the many ways the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation is helping to identify the next big idea that will create jobs and make Delaware better” said foundation chair Thère du Pont in a statement.

To be considered as a presenter at the event, members of the public may submit ideas through Thursday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. through the foundation’s website.
