Delaware is entering an economic recovery phase of the COVID-19, but there’s still a wide range of issues relating to the pandemic that need to be addressed.

In response, the Office of the Governor and the Delaware chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) together launched Engage DE to address these issues with regular brainstorming sessions with organizations up and down the state.

“Everyone in Delaware knows that our state has a wealth of insightful, helpful, and civic-minded individuals and organizations,” said Gov. John Carney in a statement. “I am confident that as more of these forums are held, we will see innovative and practical concepts introduced to state government and that will lead to a more effective and efficient state.”

The next topic of discussion will be education, with an Engage DE brainstorming session scheduled for Thursday, May 20. Some of the issues intersecting education and COVID-19 include the digital divide, the state’s Accelerated Learning Plan, requirements for safe in-person classes, vaccination requirements on college campuses and the recent approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 12 and over.

“We look forward to working with the Governor’s office and dozens of other organizations throughout the state in helping to make Delaware an even better place in which to live, work, and raise families,” said Laurie Bick Jensen, president of the local PRSA.

Keep and eye of the PRSA events page and the Office of the Governor website for more information.
