The Shift, a series of (currently) virtual events geared toward Black and brown business owners, will host its second installment on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m.
The series was launched in connection with the Seeking Equity in Wilmington, a 12-week Technical.ly Delaware series highlighting inequities minority business owners face in Wilmington so that they can be addressed. That reporting was underwritten by theĀ Wilmington Alliance, which hosts The Shift alongside the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation.
One of the goals that came as a result of the series was to keep discussions about equity in Wilmington open and resources accessible to Black and Brown businesses. In partnership with the WIN Factory, The Shift became part of MASTERMINDS, its education series for entrepreneurs. Also partnering in the project is Spending Black Matters.
The conversation series focuses not only on sharing information and resources to support Black and Brown businesses, but on identifying solutions to systemic and policy issues that have traditionally been barriers to success.
In the second installment, participants will:
- Learn about programs and services available for entrepreneurs
- Play an active roll in the process of building solutions
- Get an update on where we are in the process for important changes that directly affect Wilmington businesses
The Shift is free, and takes place on Zoom. To receive the link, RSVP:
