Need support as an entrepreneur during the coronavirus crisis? Wilmington’s WIN Factory is launching a community resource geared especially toward entrepreneurs of color and small biz owners, many of whom have lost a significant amount (or, in some cases, all) of their business.
Camp Corona, which launched at noon on Monday, is a digital platform where people can collaborate via Zoom work sessions, learn about how to apply for emergency small business relief funds, and participate in lunch-and-learns with industry experts, as well as virtual workshops and a private Facebook group for connecting.
“The WIN Factory Wealth League is doing the ultimate pivot due to coronavirus [lockdown] by becoming a resource and community for those who are trying to achieve and overcome this challenging time,” said cofounder Tamara Varella.
Some of the main topics “campers” will learn about include investing and financial strategy, though already, they have expanded to include lifestyle topics, including at-home life, wellness and mental health.
“Our goal is to come together — virtually of course — to support one another, hold each other accountable and get access to all of the information you need to achieve your goals during this time,” Varella said. “The one thing that everyone can say about corona is that it forced you to reevaluate your life.”
It’s free to join Camp Corona, and you don’t need to live in Wilmington. The free version of the camp includes coronavirus relief fund resources, lunch-and-learns, ebooks and access to the private Facebook group. If you are a member of the WIN Factory Wealth League (which has a $50 per month fee), or if you join, you will also receive weekly virtual workshops, access to Masterminds classes, and other benefits like group investment opportunities.
