SEWcial Cafe, a sewing makerspace geared toward women in Philadelphia (with a potential Wilmington location coming in the future), is now offering classes online.
“I know we’ve all been feeling a bit disconnected during this time of advised isolation,” said SEWcial Cafe founder ChaCha N. Hudson, an alum of University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship who teaches fashion courses in UD’s Fashion & Apparel Studies department and advanced fashion courses in the Continuing Education department at Moore College of Art & Design, said in an email update. “I’ve decided to move classes to a virtual platform to help in the effort to keep us all healthy and safe.”
Classes will be run via Google Hangouts, and cost $120 for a two-hour session, or $240 for three sessions. Register for a session online.
In additional to online classes, Hudson also runs the social distance-friendly Sewing with ChaCha N’Kole group on Facebook.
