Goodbye, Christiana Care Health System: Hello, ChristianaCare

Delaware’s largest health system (and its largest private employer) is getting a makeover: Christiana Care Health System has changed its name to the one-word ChristianaCare, with a new brand identity that includes a new logo featuring a peach blossom and a new slogan — “For the Love of Health.”

Gone is the kelly green branding. ChristianaCare’s new look features a lighter pear green with teal blue and a geometric blossom design, with an updated font that evokes a tech company more than a chain of hospitals — and that’s the idea.

“The reason we’re doing it is because a lot of the things we’re doing involve innovation,” Senior Communications Manager Hiran Ratnayake told Technical.ly. “Artificial intelligence, machine learning and virtual primary care telemedicine, gene editing — a lot of the work we’re doing is in those areas as well as social health, helping people with food security and housing needs. You’ve got to do all of that for health and especially under a value-based payment model.”

ChristianaCare President and CEO Dr. Janice Nevin will be visiting several ChristianaCare campuses on Thursday in a new branded ChristianaCare community outreach bus to celebrate with employees.

“We are on a mission to deliver the right care, at the right place, at the right time for everyone we serve,” Dr. Nevin said in a press statement. “We’re expanding primary care and virtual technologies to make it easy for people to access care where and when they need it. We’re innovating and creating new partnerships to address the non-medical needs that affect people’s health. We are embracing value-based payment models that support high-quality care at lower costs. And of course, we continue to deliver hospital care that’s rated among the best in the world for quality and safety.”
