Philly Tech Week presented by Comcast is almost here, so if you haven’t made up your itinerary yet, it’s time to get cracking.

Here in Delaware, we have a tiny tech ecosystem, and while that has its perks, we’re fortunate to be so close to the massive Philadelphia, where each May, you can find eight days of wall-to-wall conferences, workshops, science festivals, happy hours, networking and even some creative racing.

(Full disclosure, yes, PTW is organized by Technical.ly Delaware’s parent company, Technically Media.)

If you have been to PTW but it’s been a few years, you might be wondering where the heck the Business and Media Conferences have gone. All of that awesome content is still there, distilled into one big event — Introduced — where you can mix and match sessions on business, media, science, creative and civic, all in one place.

Still not sure if you’re going? Here are 10 reasons you should head up to PTW19:

10. Events are SEPTA accessible

Don’t like the drive to — and park in — Philly? Hop on SEPTA: Most events are an easy walk from Suburban Station in Center City. Plus, if you’re taking light rail, those happy hours can be a little bit happier. (There’s also discounted parking at  The AutoPark at Independence Mall, a 24-hour, fully enclosed and secure self-park garage operated by the Philadelphia Parking Authority located underneath the Independence Visitor Center.)

9. Big-time presenters

Catching dev talks by folks like Aurora Morales, search outreach specialist at Google; Todd Escalona, solutions architect evangelist at Amazon Web Services; and Jeanine Heck, VP of product development at Comcast are a rare opportunity.

8. Discover startups you might not know

Many PTW events like Dev Conference and Introduced mix big biz speakers with lesser-known — but still super-interesting — startup speakers. Philly Startup Leaders Entrepreneur Expo, anyone?

7. Local food

If you attend one of the PTW parties, like the Kickoff Festival, you”ll get to sample Philly region libations and nibbles, including Bluecoat Gin. And, though we wouldn’t call it a free lunch, catered food is included in the Introduced ticket price.

6. Cool kids activities

Got kids who are into tech? (Are there even kids who aren’t?) Take the your kiddos, nieces and nephews and/or mentees to the Science Carnival on the Parkway on Saturday, May 4, and they can code their own custom version of Pong, among other fun activities.

5. See panelists from Delaware

OK, you’re not going to a Philly event just to see entrepreneurs you already know, but Delaware will be in the house.

See former Technical.ly Delaware contributor and founder of OpportuniME, Miracle Olatunji, on the Introduced panel “Founding the Future: Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs,” and TheraV CEO and founder Amira Idris Radović is give a lightning talk during the “Fail Better: Startup Founders and Stories of Resilience” session. Also, Wilmington’s Unified Web Media will have a table featuring its VR tour of the 76ers Fieldhouse at the Entrepreneur Expo on May 8.

4. You can go up for one day or all of them, no hotel required

There are 102 events in all, including the Seventh Annual PhillyForce Salesforce Conference, Creating a Digital Wakanda: Bringing Black Wall Street Online, The 5th Annual Women in Tech Soiree and a ton more. Check out the full calendar to plan your week.

3. Seriously, it’s only like 30 minutes away.

OK, 50 minutes by SEPTA. Still.

2. Gritty!

Not only can you meet Gritty, viral marketing superstar and mascot of the Philadelphia Flyers, there will be a whole Gritty-focused panel at Introduced, featuring a panel of the Flyers marketers behind the sensation.

1. You’ll expand your ever-valuable networking reach

Only one thing can beat Gritty, and that’s the fact that PTW is the largest networking event in the region. And you’re a part of the region — so get out there and grow your business.
