‘Antiques Roadshow’ is coming to Winterthur looking for your family heirlooms

The popular PBS appraisal show will make its first-ever stop in Delaware in June 2019.

Who doesn’t love Antiques Roadshow? The dizzying highs and crashing lows, the $100,000 paintings picked up at a garage sale for a dollar, inherited “costume” jewelry that turns out to be highly valuable, and, of course, the fakes. The glorious, devastating fakes.

In its 20 years of production, Roadshow has somehow never filmed episodes in Delaware — but that will change in June 2019, when the show comes to the First State to film three episodes at Winterthur, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The Delaware episodes will be part of the 2019 Roadshow Tour, which includes five cities. The other four — Phoenix, San Antonio, Sacramento, Calif. and Fargo, N.D. — are all out west, so we can expect the sole East Coast date to attract a good number of people up and down the Mid Atlantic region.

Tickets are free, and you can apply for one here. You don’t need to submit an item for appraisal unless it’s a furniture piece, which are selected in advance. In February, ticket applicants will be entered into a random drawing.
