Five #DIW18 events you haven’t heard about but shouldn’t miss

Delaware Innovation Week isn't all conferences — here are 5 smaller events you don't want to miss.

Delaware Innovation Week 2018 is in full swing, and it’s only going to get better. If you missed the kickoff party at DCAD on Friday or the FIRST Robotics showcase at Kingswood Community Center, there’s plenty more to come, including Technical.ly’s Business Conference at the Emerging Enterprise Center on Tuesday and our Dev Conference at DTCC on Wednesday. But, unless you’ve been sleeping for the last couple weeks, you already knew that.

What you might not know about are DIW’s hidden gems — the smaller, less known events happening this week in Wilmington and Newark.

  • November 2018 BioBreakfast (SOLD OUT)
    W. L. Gore, Newark, Thursday, November 8 7:30am–9:30am DelawareBio’s bi-monthly BioBreakfast is a well-established event for member’s of Delaware’s life sciences community– but what you might not know is that there’s a DIW BioBreakfast this week, a good opportunity to check it out if you’ve been thinking about joining DelawareBio. This networking and informational event is for those interested in the life science industry, life science professionals, students and postdocs. The event is free for DelawareBio members, but there’s a fee for non-members.
  • So You’re Ready to Start a Business. What’s Next?
    Emerging Enterprise Center, Wilmington, Thursday, November 8 8:30am–1:00pm Looking for real, actionable advice on starting your own business? Join Dora Cheatham, Program Manager for the Emerging Enterprise Center and certified Growth Wheel Mentor, for a 3 1/2 hour introduction to the Growth Wheel curriculum designed to help early stage companies get focus, set an agenda, make decisions and take action.
  • The Boss Brainstorm
    New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, Wilmington, Thursday, November 8 5:00pm–7:00pm The Boss Brainstorm is a collaborative effort of entrepreneurs, savvy professionals and creatives who gather to exchange tools, tactics and resources, through guest speakers and conversations. After the brainstorm session, join the group for happy hour at Ubon Thai next door.
