You can’t just slap a “Made in the USA” sticker on your product and call it a day. World Trade Center Delaware will be holding a half-day workshop for Delaware Innovation Week 2017 to help businesses understand what constitutes a Made in the USA product and how to apply and use the label.
Topics include:
- FTC Made in the USA Standards — Rules and Compliance (60 minutes)
- CBP foreign label requirements — Where it intersects FTC rules (30 minutes)
- Made in USA Standards and the Protection of IP (30 minutes)
- The marking requirements for putting patent numbers on patented goods
- The use of “TM” and ® to enhance trademark rights
- The use of the copyright notice © — Where it is appropriate and how it helps with enforcement of rights
- The importance of proper labeling for military/aerospace and dual use sales (30 minutes)
- Using FTAs to sell your American-made products overseas (30 minutes)
“Made in the USA” will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Delaware Technology Park, 1 Innovation Way in Newark. The cost is $50 is you are a WTC Delaware member, $100 for nonmembers.
