Where will you be on Thursday, Aug. 10, aka Wilm Day?
If it’s North Market, Trolley Square or the Riverfront, GeoSwap invites you to download the new app and celebrate its launch with exclusive app-only deals at places like The Logan House, Espresso! and Chickie’s Pizza Pub.
What is GeoSwap? It’s a location-based app that shows you what’s going on near you, and the nearby food and drink specials. (Love the burgers at the pub down the street? GeoSwap will show you when they’re half off.)
“Our goal is to show the people of Wilmington that there are always things going on, and that GeoSwap is the best place to go to find them,” said GeoSwap CMO Jordan Gonzalez. “We have specials showing great places where people can go to eat, but on top of that we also have events and landmarks so everyone can always find something interesting to do.”
Started by three recent University of Delaware grads, GeoSwap previously partnered with the State of Delaware’s Tourism Board to build content for visitors to the area. Now the focus is on users in the Brandywine Valley. Businesses, event hosts and patrons can use the app to create “GeoSpots” that will show up in the feeds of nearby users.
“We’re really excited to host this event to let people know about what we’re doing and to just give people another thing to do, and who doesn’t love that?” said CEO Jason Bamford.
Wilm Day is just the beginning: the launch will kick off four weeks of specials in Wilmington, the startup says. If you have a business and are interested in taking part, contact GeoSwap here.-30-
