Delaware pro gamers were *the* story at this Las Vegas ‘Injustice 2’ tournament

Delaware may not have its own major league sports teams, but we do have 19-year-old Dominique “SonicFox” McClean, one of the top fighting-gamers in the country.
The Townsend, Del., native is such a legendary Mortal Kombat X player that he was immortalized in Mortal Kombat XL with the “Fox Finish” achievement. With nearly 30 tournaments wins under his belt, including the Evolution Fighting Game Championships (Evo) in Las Vegas for two years running, he was expected to leave this year with another title. But, as ESPN reports, in an upset at the Evo Injustice 2 tournament over the weekend, SonicFox was taken out by Tim “HoneyBee” Commandeur. SonicFox finished in fourth (let’s be real, though — that’s not at all shabby at this level of competition).
SonicFox’s upset — “arguably the biggest upset in Injustice 2’s short history,” according to ESPN — left it up to another Delaware pro gamer, Ryan “Dragon” Walker of Lewes, to battle HoneyBee in the grand finale. HoneyBee got pwned, though, with Dragon ultimately winning it all, 3-2. First State FTW.

The two young pros play for teams NeatherRealm and Noble, respectively.
