Helen Stimson on why Delaware needs to cultivate its bioscience industry

Is bioscience the next big industry in Delaware? Helen Stimson, president of the Delaware BioScience Association, thinks so. But she also acknowledges that there are some obstacles standing in the way.
Stimson recently told the Delaware Business Times: “Bringing community together to share a network is really important, especially when you look at the bioscience industry, which has had a tough time attracting new companies to the state.”

A report released at the 2016 BIO International Convention, showed the average bioscience job in Delaware, which includes fields like drugs and pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment, agriculture, research, and laboratory testing, paid an average of $120,000. This was the highest in the country.
