Military and veteran students are in good hands at Delaware Technical Community College, according to Pennsylvania veteran workforce development org Victory Media. The school was selected by Victory Media as a “military friendly” school for the third year in a row on Monday.
The award is given to the top 15 percent of colleges in the country that have resources and initiatives dedicated to helping their military students.

Delaware Tech earned its award through several military and veteran-focused programs including:

  • A student veteran organization, Veterans Inspiring Progress, which offers peer support for veteran students.
  • Academic counselors who specifically assist military students.
  • Events like the Run, White & Blue 5K, which benefits the Delaware Tech veterans’ scholarship

Delaware Tech also received the state’s 2016 Warrior Friendly Business Award last month. The award is given to a business that supports service members, veterans and their families through workplace initiatives, like hiring and promoting military members.
