May you one day make a video of yourself as ‘badass’ as this one

Alpha Technologies CEO Harry Virk just gave you something to aspire to.

We told you last week about Alpha Technologies’ grand opening in downtown Wilmington and how it attracted several notables, including Gov. Jack Markell and U.S. Rep. John Carney.
But what we didn’t mention was that before the ribbon was officially cut, Alpha CEO Harry Virk showed a few videos to the crowd about the company.
If you didn’t already think Virk is one cool cat for bringing his company to Wilmington to create jobs, you will after watching the first video he showed. In it, he’s donning gold-rimmed Ray Ban aviators, a black overcoat, mod scarf and full suit and tie, carrying a briefcase that holds, we imagine, top-secret documents for saving the world.
Watch it
The video begins with him walking down the Riverfront boardwalk, and then after striding through the doors at Alpha Technologies, he looks like James Bond as the elevator doors close to take him to the fourth floor. We get some more shots of him walking downtown, and then a panoramic explosion of amazingness as he stands, Ray Bans still on, in Rodney Square as an image of a waving American flag overlays his face while he talks in a voiceover about America.
And whoever made this glorious video saved the mic-drop moment for the end, right after the tarmac with Virk standing on the roof of the Alpha building, gazing at his IT domain and beyond. (How’d they get that shot? A drone? A helicopter? The private jet pictured in the preceding shot?)

The music for the video works, but we would’ve preferred AC/DC’s “Back in Black,” or at least during the intro.
We can also report that Markell and Carney’s aides were sitting together as the video played last Thursday, and one of them leaned in to whisper, “That’s badass.”
