Drones!
Delaware Technical Community College is hosting a drone extravaganza at three of its campuses throughout the day. Lewes-based Mark and Kyle Ryan of Ryan Media Lab, Inc., will be there to give indoor flight demonstrations and answer questions about drone technology and its future in Delaware. The father and son duo invented a dynamic restraint system that controls flight from the ground and protects the National Airspace System, people and property. It’s a high-strength fishing line.
Other guest speakers will include Jordan Bates, an aviator, drone pilot and former NASA research consultant; Shyam Chidamber, the founding director of the Center for Information Technology and the Global Economy at American University, as well as the “chief evangelist” of Nevada-based drone delivery service Flirtey Inc.; and Christopher Quick, the founder and CEO of Realbotics, Inc., which develops software and hardware for tele-robotics services.
Here’s the drone sked:

  • 10 a.m. in Newark at the Stanton Campus gymnasium
  • 1 p.m. in Dover at the Terry Campus, in Room 727 of the Education and Technology Building
  • 4 p.m. in Georgetown at the Owens Campus, in the Jason Technology Center gymnasium
