Students participating in University of Delaware’s second annual hackathon, sponsored by UD’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship and held during the first Delaware Innovation Week, had 24 hours to take an idea and develop it into a tool. Seven teams presented their final products to a panel of judges:

Three teams were selected as winners:
- Restaurant Heat Map: Working on Google Maps API, this web app allows users to see how busy the restaurants in their immediate area are. Local restaurants would theoretically be responsible for providing their own data, but would be able to offer customers flash deals — a handy feature when business is slow.
- DigiClick: This was the only team to hack hardware, creating a mouse emulator in the form of a glove. The user waves their hand to move the cursor, and can bend their pointer finger to left-click.
- Classrm.tv: A digital classroom that uses YouTube API to crowdsource open classrooms hosted by “pro-amateur” educators.

There were also these four projects:
- Planet Defense: A video game where users defend a planet from alien ships.
- Udisplay: Like Product Hunt for university clubs, students and organizations, all of which can upload showcase projects.
- Help Me Write My Paper: A web app loaded with various essay structure templates. Aimed at automating the drafting process, the app generates a rough draft based on user prompts.
- Bounty Hunter Survival: A video game where users play as “Moby the mole,” a bounty hunter who has landed on a zombie planet after a time traveling mishap.
