In case you haven’t heard, Delaware’s Division of Motor Vehicles has spent the past six months studying digital driver’s license technology — an idea the agency is confident will eventually spread across the country.
“The possibilities are endless and the technology is there,” DMV director Scott Vien told state government technology news site StateScoop.
The technology has been piloted in Iowa among state employees for the past two months.
“Once states like Delaware, Iowa and many others start proving that this mobile driver’s license is a very usable, interoperable tool for somebody to have, then development I think is going to take off from there,” said Vien.
