How Nemours nurses will be using Google Glass

This month, three transport nurses from Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children will begin implementing the use of video-streaming via Google Glass.
In collaboration with 1313 Innovation-based tech startup Digital Vikings and CrowdOptic in San Francisco, the nurses will be livestreaming HIPAA-compliant video from the field to doctors back at the hospital.
Steve Rawheiser, one of the nurses piloting the project at Nemours, said the technology is still a bit buggy.
“At this point, I think we know more about what it’s not good at and what needs to be improved,” Rawheiser told the News Journal. “When the stream works, it’s crystal clear with perfect audio and HD quality video. But when it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work.”
