Mark Barbera

Age: 21

Why are you attending this event: I’d like to see what the job market for my field looks like and maybe make a few connections at the same time. I don’t mind free food either, of course.

Samantha Blinde

Age: 29
Current affiliation (job/school): I’m currently a senior attending college at Wilmington University in New Castle, majoring in Media Design: Multimedia. I graduate with my Bachelor’s of Science next January. I also currently work part-time at WilmU as a peer mentor to new students in their First Year Experience course. My goal is to become a user experience designer, but I also love working with web design and I am flexible about my future career.
Why are you attending this event: Attending college has taught me how important networking with others is. This event will give me the opportunity to meet with others in the area who have that same interest in technology. In such a small community, knowing others who you could either collaborate with on projects or use as a resource in my future career would be very beneficial.
What are you hoping to gain from this event: I intend on having my resume reviewed as well as having a headshot taken. I would love to meet others that work or plan to work in the technology industry, as networking is incredibly important to our fields. I am also looking for a part-time or full-time opportunity for this upcoming summer, preferably one that involves user experience design and/or web design, as well as opportunities for post-graduation.
