Drone video shows thousands in Rehoboth Beach taking ‘polar plunge’

This year’s Lewes Polar Bear Plunge drew over 3,000 hardy souls to Rehoboth Beach on Feb. 1. The event raised a record-setting $780,000 for Special Olympics Delaware.
Now, thanks to some newly-published drone footage, you can watch it all unfold from above, from the comfort of your warm computer screen.

Drone footage of a polar bear plunge in Spokane, Wash., last year got a local paper in trouble for running afoul of FAA rules. (The federal agency argued it was unlicensed commercial usage.) As we recently reported, the regulatory gray area around aerial photography in the U.S. drove one recent UD grad to Canada to start a drone business there.
