WHO’S GETTING BUZZ

InterDigital shares rose this week, Reuters reported. That’s after a federal jury in Delaware ruled that ZTE Corp infringed on three of its patents on mobile phones. InterDigital, which we previously featured here, reported that shares were up by 3.6 percent and had rose as much as 9 percent.

The News Journal recently featured a story on John Kirk and Richard Prieto of MUNI-Tech. The story highlighted the two Wilmington residents’ web app, Cnverg. The pair have been participating in the DreamIt Ventures accelerator program this fall in Philadelphia, and will pitch their app to investors on Dec. 3 during a venture capital event through the program. See our previous feature on MUNI-Tech here.

Calpine Corp. managers recently announced that its Garrison Energy Center, currently under construction, is set to open in Dover in June 2015. A recent article in the Delaware State News detailed the $400 million project, which has tasked cement mixers, bricklayers, carpenters, pipefitters, boilermakers and teamsters from the Philadelphia and Baltimore regions to construct the plant.
