The award was presented by World Trade Center Delaware at “World Trade in Motion,” an annual event showcasing the global engagement of Delaware. Since 2011, the award has been given to individuals who have acted on a vision to improve Delaware’s role in the global economy.
The award is named for World Trade Center Delaware Chairman Emeritus Henry Beckler. Last year, Mike Bowman of Delaware Technology Park received the award; in 2012, N.C. Vasuki of the Delaware Solid Waste Authority was honored; Beckler received the award in 2011.
The event also recognized two Delaware companies that received the President’s “E” Award for exporting earlier this year.
ILC Dover of Frederica and General Separation Technologies, Inc. (GS-Tek) of Newark were among 65 companies honored across the country this year. The two were the first from Delaware to receive the award since 1992.
ILC Dover makes products used in protecting people in hostile environments — including space; GS-Tek provides analytical lab equipment and services to providers and distributors.
