Digital marketing services platform SUEGO has a new resource for startups looking to get in the know in the digital space: A webinar series on all things on crypto and blockchain for business.
Founder Steven A. Rodriguez told Technical.ly that he views blockchain as one of the more interesting innovations on the D.C. startup scene.
“People don’t really know what it is or feel like it’s out there but it’s beyond them, it’s too complex,” Rodriguez said. “So we’re trying to demystify that and give them the basics so at the very least they know about it, so that if it ever disrupts the market, at least they’re aware of it and it doesn’t impact them too severely.”
The four-part series features an intro to blockchain for business, an overview of Rutanio, another proposed means of exchange, a session in Spanish and a session on how to leverage the technology for your business. SUEGO is hosting the series for each month over the summer.
According to Rodriguez, utility tokens and peer-to-peer value exchange, aka bartering, can be a good way to offset costs early on and generate more revenue.
“Bartering is not a common thing, or at least you don’t think of bartering that much, but we probably should,” Rodriguez said. “If we’re trying to be lean and scrappy with our businesses then [we should be] leveraging any type of resource out there that can help us save on expenses.”
