A recently launched website wants to be a one-stop shop for employees in the government community who are looking for information to better understand market trends.

GovWhitePapers launched in September as a spinout from its sister site GovEvents, which is a hub for government-related events with an audience of more than 100,000 people, per the company. GovEvents was founded 10 years ago by Kerry Rea, who now leads both companies as president.

GovWhitePapers is loaded with content focused on topics like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, healthcare and cloud computing. Users must register as members to view content, and there is no cost to join the site.

“This site and GovEvents are specifically tailored for people that work in government and those that serve it,” Rea told Technical.ly. “There is a lot of content on the site, while they are not all ‘white papers’ specifically, it was a term that this audience understands as being something they can read and learn from.”

The GovWhitePapers team collected assets from various sources to initially populate the GovWhitePapers library, launching with more than 1,000 white papers, ebooks, case studies, data sheets and infographics. Now that the website is live, the GovWhitePapers team is inviting organizations and authors to add their own government-focused content to the site for free.

New content is added to the site daily by members and the GovWhitePapers’ team. Content on the site must also have been published within the last 24 months to ensure the material is current and relevant. Because of the pace of technology changes in the government sector, anything older than 24 months is automatically removed from the site.

Overall, Rea is hoping GovWhitePapers will make it easier for people in government to find information that helps them develop professionally and do their jobs better.

“Without this, you would be doing a general Google search, returning a lot of material that is not targeted or germane to government,” she said. “Or you’d be hopping across multiple government-focused sites searching for the same information. With GovWhitePapers we did all that work for you, curating the content we know will be helpful to government professionals.”
