In the latest episode of our video series, Das talks about what it's been like growing the startup's team through a pandemic and how she's been managing personally.

“I fell in love with technology early on. My mother is a physicist so I use to play in her lab and I started messing with her experiments which ran on a computer that sat in a room where you had to take your shoes off.”

This is how Dipanwita Das described her start in the technology sector. Fast forward to now, she is the cofounder and CEO of Adams Morgan-based Sorcero, a startup that built its Language Intelligence Platform to make it easier for a company’s team members to find information within internal documents, especially for insurance and life sciences companies. Sorcero closed a $3.5 million bridge to a Series A in June.

Das first got on our radar when she competed in Vinetta Project DC’s final Venture Challenge in 2018. Sorcero has shown much success since then, including launching new partnerships and landing in a West Coast-based accelerator, and the company is currently hiring for various roles.

Das is the most recent honoree from Technical.ly DC’s RealLIST Connectors interviewed for Technical.ly DC Diaries, our new video series featuring interviews with local founders, technologists and startup leaders. The conversations are hosted by me, Market Editor Michelai Graham, and explore various topics including how these folks got their start in technology or entrepreneurship and what keeps them going. See more episodes here.
