Reston, Virginia-based FrontStream is partnering with Chicago-based health activation and engagement company MoveSpring to power a virtual fitness fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Frontstream provides a suite of products for nonprofits and corporations looking to raise funds securely. The pair first teamed up together in May to launch its virtual fitness fundraising tool.

Frontstream and MoveSpring created a mobile application experience for the American Cancer Society’s Fit2Be Cancer Free 2020 Challenge. This event taking place July 16 through Aug. 6 invites CEOs and employees at organizations across the U.S. to participate in a step challenge to raise funds and educate communities on cancer awareness and prevention.

“Our goal with the Fit2Be Cancer Free 2020 Challenge is not only to raise funds and awareness around cancer prevention, but also to encourage physical activity and wellness in the workplace, wherever that may be,” said Gary Reedy, CEO at the American Cancer Society, in a statement.

Deloitte and McKesson Corporation are a few of the organizations signed up to participate in the challenge. The iOS and Android-friendly app syncs with fitness trackers and smartphones to track progress. Participants can engage with educational cancer content, run virtual races and connect with others in the challenge using the mobile app.

FrontStream decided to launch the virtual fitness fundraising tool for organizations financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Organizations that had planned in-person fundraising events, such as walks and 5Ks, can use the peer-to-peer platform to move them online and track activity. The solution, designed to drive engagement and donations through gamification, is offered through FrontStream’s digital platform, Panorama. New virtual fundraising events can also be ran through the platform.

The Reston company is hiring for a number of roles right now, including account executive and senior Windows network engineer.
