Navy Yard-based GiveCampus recently welcomed Katy Gathright as its new director of marketing and communications. The company offers a digital fundraising and volunteer management platform for educational institutions across the United States.
Gathright brings more than seven years of experience in marketing leadership roles for nonprofit and for-profit clients. Prior to this position, she served as the senior director of marketing at Wellness Corporate Solutions, and she previously worked at Groundswell in various roles, including as the company’s community manager.
GiveCampus now has a team of 34 employees working across its D.C. headquarters and San Francisco office. Gathright has been onboarding virtually with the company due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and GiveCampus will welcome two more new employees in mid May. The company plans to grow its team to 50 employees by the end of the year, a GiveCampus spokesperson told Technical.ly, with open roles in engineering, product, business development, partner success and marketing.
Fairfax, Virginia-based software development company 3Pillar Global has promoted its CRO, Heather Combs, to COO.
“I’m excited to be contributing to a wider set of corporate responsibilities and working within the business as we rapidly grow,” said Combs in a press release. “In addition to our commercial functions, I am eager to add focus on integrating the company’s systems, processes and infrastructure for the next phase of business growth.”
This leadership transition comes after the company launched an investment partnership with New York-based private equity investor CIP Capital in March.
Leesburg, Virginia-based cybersecurity startup Cofense added two new members to its leadership team last month, and promoted another employee. The company provides phishing defense services to businesses to protect their data and reputations.
Brandi Moore, previously chief of staff at Cofense, has been promoted to the company’s COO. Mark Small joined the company as SVP of worldwide sales, and Carolyn Merritt joins as VP of customer experience.
“Brandi, Mark and Carolyn’s respective track records of success and combined entrepreneurial mindsets make them critical assets to Cofense’s executive leadership team,” said Cofense CEO Rohyt Belani in a statement. “As we position Cofense for its next phase in market leadership, our streamlined organizational structure will help further advance our strong go-to-market strategy and global adoption of our portfolio of products and services.”
Small now leads Cofense’s global sales teams after previously leading Proofpoint’s digital risk worldwide sales and technical teams. Merritt leads the company’s technical support, client success and PhishMe professional service teams, bringing decades of experience leading teams at technology companies. Moore was Cofense’s chief of staff for a year before being promoted to COO. She first joined the company as senior director of northeast sales back in 2012, a position she was in for six years.
McLean, Virginia-based GTT Communications, a global cloud networking provider, has hired Steven Berns as its new CFO.
He brings more than 30 years of financial and operational leadership experience to the company and he most recently served as the co-COO and CFO at Shutterstock. He has also previously served as CFO of Revlon and the Tribune Media Company.-30-
