“Scaring for five hours straight is exhausting,” said one Baltimore County teacher who moonlights as a “deranged clown” every weekend at Markoff’s Haunted House in Poolesville, Maryland. Here’s hoping a raise comes with raising the dead.

The News

Iceman is apparently feeling the heat. The Department of Defense has asked LMI Ventures and The Climate Service to study how the military’s F-35 joint strike fighter will be challenged, not just by MIGs but by climate change. LMI Ventures, which provides management and tech consulting services to the federal government, was launched in February in partnership with The Climate Service.

If you’re building a business or social venture in Baltimore, you can enter to win a $2,000 stipend, pitch training, networking, a professional portrait session and weekly instruction, courtesy of Loyola University Maryland’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE). CIE’s Baltipreneurs Accelerator Program is seeking to support ventures in and around Baltimore. Applications from underrepresented entrepreneurs will be given preference, including women, people of color, people with disabilities and veterans. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Oct. 31.

• The coworking space and incubator network 1776 is hiring a Campus Manager to serve as the primary management and coordination lead at its Greencourt Innovation Center, a 15,000 square-foot site in North Bethesda. The position will report to the Campus Director.
• And if you have at least seven years of experience in small business or organizational leadership, 1776 is also hiring a Campus Director for the Greencourt Innovation Center in North Bethesda.
• Join what’s obviously the best workplace in the Northeast: Technical.ly is hiring an Editorial Intern for spring 2020. You’ll work with the Technical.ly editors to create digital content for two of Technical.ly’s four markets: Baltimore and D.C., or Philadelphia and Delaware. The position is available in Baltimore or Philadelphia.

• Consultadd is hiring a Python Developer for an entry-level position.
• Snap! Raise in Richmond is looking for a Market Development Manager.
