Georgetown names its next cohort of entrepreneurs-in-residence

The ninth annual cohort of entrepreneurial professionals will work with students on campus over the next year who aspire to launch their own businesses.

Georgetown Entrepreneurship has announced its ninth annual cohort of entrepreneurs-in-residence, with the addition of an expert-in-residence.

The initiative is a part of the university’s McDonough School of Business and acts as a liaison between students with biz goals and the real world of entrepreneurship.

Each year, the residency program welcomes entrepreneurs of various backgrounds, including some Georgetown alumni, to act as mentors and advisors to students. In 2019-2019, 24 professionals will spend the next academic year working with undergraduate and graduate students on Georgetown’s campus who aspire to launch their own ventures.

Jessica Carson, founder of Wired This Way and director of innovation at the American Psychological Association, will serve as the program’s expert-in-residence. In this role, Carson will use her background in startups and psychology to help students on campus better understand how to embark on an entrepreneurial path in the healthiest and best way possible.

Here’s the list of 23 entrepreneurs selected for this year’s cohort:

  • Troye Bullock Jr., cofounder and chief operating officer for GOOD
  • Laura Clark, retail entrepreneur and communications executive who founded Wylie Wagg
  • Howard Eisenberg, founder and president of EuroSort Inc.
  • Talia Fox, CEO of KUSI training
  • Shye Gilad, cofounder and managing partner of ProJet Aviation
  • Patricia Henriques, founder and head of Management Alternatives Inc. for 20 years
  • John Jabara, founder of Savenia Labs
  • Jay Kenny, a senior business leader of high-growth companies
  • Fiona Macaulay, founder of a for-profit company and a social enterprise
  • Mike Malloy, leader of the Halcyon Incubator and former CEO at Waveborn Sunglasses
  • Peter Mellen, an entrepreneur with experience in online business and commercial real estate
  • Miguel Monteverde, a D.C.-based tech and media executive and founder and principal at Green Mountain Advisors
  • Jill Monk, edtech expert
  • Rick Robinson, VP of enterprise product innovation at AARP and cofounder of Urgent.ly
  • Meghan Roman, founder and principal of Stonerose Advisors
  • Mark Silverman, a venture investor and adviser at Westhaven Therapeutics and Georgetown Translational Pharmaceuticals
  • Marc Steren, co-director of the Georgetown University Summer Launch program
  • Steve Taylor, regional director for Lyft in New York and the Mid-Atlantic
  • Dave Terzian, managing partner of Brand Strategy Partners, LLC
  • Barbara White, chief strategy officer of a management consulting firm
  • Tien Wong, chairman and CEO of Tech2000
  • Danny Wright, cofounder of GOOD
  • Khuram Zaman, chief executive officer of Fifth Tribe
