Reston, Va.-based Leidos, a defense, aviation, IT, and biomedical research company, announced that it is set to acquire Pennsylvania-based IMX Medical Management Services, a commercial independent review organization, and its affiliated businesses.
IMX provides independent medical evaluations, medical record reviews and medical and vocational case management for insurance carriers, employers, law firms, third party administrators and state and local government, a press release states.
The pair have entered into a definitive agreement and once the deal closes, Leidos said IMX will operate under one of its subsidiary companies, QTC Management, a company that provides independent medical examinations and medical record reviews for federal customers. Leidos acquired QTC in 2016 and since 2000, Leidos reported that QTC has provided more than 8 million physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
“Leidos has a 35-year history of providing technology-driven exam solutions through our wholly-owned company, QTC,” Jon Scholl, Leidos Health Group president, said in a statement. “The IMX transaction directly supports our mission to make the world safer, healthier and more efficient.”
The transaction is expected to close sometime this quarter. IMX will bring its nearly 200-member staff under QTC’s wing, where it will use QTC’s examination workflow tech to better manage medical cases.
“We are excited to have reached agreement with this highly regarded organization that shares our commitment to delivering the highest quality medical, disability, and related services,” Grant Kim, QTC president, said in a press release.
