SE4K and Miss USA 2017-2018 are hosting a STEM workshop for kids at In3 on June 1 [Events Roundup]

Plus, events hosted by PythonLab, Black Girl Ventures, Code for DC and Futurefy Marketing.

Science Exploration for Kids (SE4K) and Miss USA 2017-2018 Kára McCullough are hosting a STEM workshop for young students at the Inclusive Innovation Incubator on June 1. The second annual Take Flight with SE4K and Miss USA event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and welcomes students in grades second through seventh.

Participants will engage in team building through hands-on science activities and challenges. Tickets range from $5-7 and there will be a cafe set up on-site for parents to relax at during the workshop.

Futurefy Marketing Meet-up Columbia

Futurefy Marketing hosts a series of one-day learning labs for creative professionals to learn new ways to achieve a competitive advantage. To try something new, the company is hosting its first meetup that will include a panel discussion, open forum and happy hour event.

Black Girl Ventures DC powered by Google Cloud for Startups

Black Girl Ventures DC is back with another pitch competition for young black women. There’s no panel of judges, all Q&A voting is done by the audience. Google Cloud for Startups, HubSpot for Startups, Ed2Go, and The Corcoran School of the Arts are partnering for this event. The first place winner will receive $5, 000 in cash and some in-kind prizes.

Project Night

Code for DC is hosting a project night where civic tech peeps can come and contribute to a project or create their own. Laptops are recommended but not required. The event will kick off with a network portion, followed by announcements, introductions and project pitches before getting down to work. At the end of the event, participants will have a chance to present what they worked on.
