To continue its mission to bring the entire home renovation process online, D.C.-based remodelmate rolled out its biggest product update since it first launched in 2016.

The latest version of the product launched today on international tech blog Product Hunt through a video demonstration. In a news release, remodelmate explained that the upgraded web app includes artificial intelligence-enhanced SMS bots, scheduling capabilities, a custom online dashboard, two-way project management and more.

“With this latest product update, homeowners can find and book a predictable and transparent home renovation contractor in five minutes or less, then manage the whole process online from nuts to bolts; and for contractors, it has never been easier to earn remodeling jobs,”  Chad Hall, CEO and founder of remodelmate said in a statement.

Now in its third year of operation, the home renovation marketplace also recently announced partnerships with interior design service Havenly for templated kitchen renovations and online personal finance company  SoFi for project loans up to $100,000 with monthly repayments.

“Our product update digitizes the steps of home remodeling that everyone hates: waiting for a contractor to show up and give you an unpredictable quote, paying for work with cash or check, and, of course, having to manage the whole renovation yourself,” said Nick Staples, the company’s head of engineering said in a news release. “You can now book and manage a home renovation online just like you’d book and manage a vacation rental on Airbnb.”

So how exactly does the remodelmate online platform work?

Homeowners will start by submitting a project setup form on the company’s site. remodelmate’s site lists pre-negotiated contractor rates for kitchen, bathroom, roofing, siding, door, floor, and window renovations. Moving forward, the startup facilitates free scheduling and milestone payments so homeowners only pay for completed work. On the other hand, verified contractors will get paired with guaranteed remodeling jobs that offer same-day payment, the company said.
