Amelia Friedman, among the best networked of a young entrepreneur class in D.C., announced that she will be transitioning from her COO position at Hatch Apps to an advisory role within the company. Today was her last day in the operations position, she said in a Medium article.

In the post, Friedman writes that this transition is a positive one, embracing the fact that in the past year and a half, Hatch has hired a full team, including sales, marketing, customer success and ops, in hopes that they will step up even more now.

“I’m still on-call and I’m still committed. The team should expect to see me at Friday happy hours and popping into the Slack conversation. I’ll also be on call as an advisor and champion for the company. Hatch Apps is still my baby, and I’m going to do all I can to help ensure its growth into maturity,” Friedman said in the article.

Param Jaggi will remain the CEO at Hatch as Friedman takes some time off before deciding her next move.

“This decision was not an easy one. It’s one we made together, and is informed by both what’s best for the company and also what’s best for Amelia at this stage of her life. I’m excited for what’s next for Amelia. And as she knows, we’ll still probably talk every day,” Jaggi said in a letter.
