Last week, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a $13 billion U.S. expansion plan that will include doubling and moving its Reston, Va., office, the Washington Business Journal first reported.

“These new investments will give us the capacity to hire tens of thousands of employees, and enable the creation of more than 10,000 new construction jobs in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia,” Pichai said in a Google blog post.

The tech company could be moving into a new office as early as mid-2020, as its Virginia workforce plans to nearly double. Google currently resides in the Reston Town Center but is eying a move to a larger building at 1900 Reston Metro Plaza, sources told WBJ. Comstock Holding Companies owns the 365,000 square foot building in Reston, where the media giant has plans to lease about 90,000 square feet of that, doubling its current space of 45,000 square feet.

This expansion plan puts Google in 24 out of 50 states. This is another  company making NoVa moves, right along with companies like Amazon and its second headquarters, Industrious‘ office expansion, Blackboard moving its headquarters to NoVa this year and more.
