Data analytics firm BigBear announced the opening of a new office in Reston, Va., as it looks to be closer to clients in the federal government.

The San Diego–based company took a 2,600 sq. ft. space on Sunrise Valley Dr. off Reston Parkway. The company, which makes a platform to help process and understand large amounts of data, is looking to be closer to clients in the federal government. The company has worked to provide geospatial data services for the Department of Defense.

“We’re excited about our new office location in the Washington, D.C. area as well as the progress our work has made serving our nation’s most critical defense missions,” Frank Porcelli, CEO of BigBear, said in a statement. “By having our senior technology experts and engineers located near our customers, it enables the kind of close collaboration that is required to provide the high-level mission-critical support we deliver.

It’s part of a wider office upgrade, as BigBear also plans to expand an existing office in Charlottesville, Va., and its San Diego headquarters.
