General Assembly is known for providing inroads into tech careers. At an event this week, the spotlight is on cybersecurity jobs.

Held July 26 at Alley the event is bringing together a panel of speakers to provide info about a career in the sector that works to protect data from attacks. The free session at the coworking space developed by Verizon runs 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

A frequent topic in the cybersecurity industry is the demand for jobs, as studies warn of jobs going unfilled. The event will provide insight on what a job in cybersecurity entails, the skills required, and how the need to secure data is affecting businesses, according to General Assembly.

Speakers include:

  • Nakul Munjal, CEO of StatusIdentity, which provides access controls for enterprises.
  • Allison Wong, CEO of Suavei, a firm specializing in assessing the vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure.
  • Tyrone E. Wilson, Founder and President of Cover6 Solutions, which provides training services. Wilson is also a meetup organizer.
  • Verizon executives including Hassane Bouhia, who leads business products and solutions, and Director of Product Development for Public Sector Nicholas Nilan.
