D.C. startup ICX Media is acquiring a Columbus, Ohio–based SEEN, and plans to grow operations in the Buckeye State capital.

SEEN Digital Media, which was founded in 2010, has tools that will add to the capabilities of ICX Media’s platform for video content creators, said ICX CEO Michael Avon. ICX Media helps brands, media companies and other creators use data. SEEN offers a system which makes creators searchable across social media platforms, which will provide deeper engagement metrics.

“As the digital content ecosystem continues to grow and consumers have more choices than ever when it comes to brand selection, it was important to ICX Media that we acquire the tools that would complement the powerful data-inspired storytelling platform we offer,” Avon said via email.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. ICX Media is retaining SEEN’s team, and plans to grow operations in Columbus. Avon said the move “will augment our sales, marketing and client services expertise with a team of seasoned social intelligence veterans.”

ICX Media also recently opened an office in Los Angeles amid wider expansion efforts in 2018 following the company’s $6.6 million Series A.
