D.C. continues to be an expansion area for WeWork. In June, the coworking company will introduce a program that provides resources to early-stage companies beyond space to work at its 80 M St. SE location.

WeWork Labs provides connections to a network of mentors and education resources to help with building a business, pitching investors and more. It includes a mix of lectures, small-group sessions and one-on-one sessions.  The company also said it offers ties to WeWork’s network members in about 70 cities. It’s a bit like an accelerator, but it looks to attract entrepreneurs from lots of different industries, and there are no set dates for the program. Plus, entrepreneurs pay to participate ($400/month in D.C.), and the program does not take equity.

According to Techcrunch, WeWork relaunched the Labs program in February. In 2016, it was described by our sister site Technical.ly Brooklyn as a matching program. This year’s relaunch came with plans to expand, and leaders saying it would tailor the program for each new location.

WeWork often has an incubator partner for the program, and in this case will link with the resources being established by Georgetown University at WeWork White House, according to a spokesperson.

“We are thrilled to announce that WeWork Labs is coming to Washington, D.C. this summer,” Roee Adler, Global Head of WeWork Labs, said in a statement. “Over the past few years, D.C. has become a hub of entrepreneurship in the United States, and we look forward to continuing to enable this dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

After the relaunch, Labs opened a pair of locations in New York and one in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Along with D.C., it’s expanding the program to Seoul, South Korea, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Gurugra, India, this summer.

Locally, it’s expanding offerings by opening a branch of recently-acquired coding bootcamp Flatiron School, and plans to open a new Chinatown location later this year.
