Girl Develop It is looking to get its D.C. chapter reactivated.

The nonprofit looks to provide affordable and accessible coding classes to help launch tech careers. It’s been active in D.C., counting more than 2,500 Meetup members. After leadership turnover, GDI’s national team is looking to reinvigorate the local chapter.

On Tuesday night, April 10, there’s a chance to connect for people interested in getting involved. Members of the nonprofit’s national team will be onhand at The Yard: Eastern Market. Among the roles that’s needed is a new chapter leader. Attendees interested in becoming instructors, teaching assistants and students can also attend.

“Come chat with members of the GDI national team, connect with others who have taken or want to take our classes, and learn about open opportunities,” the event announcement states. “We will be sharing a little bit about each role (some of us have been chapter leaders, instructors, and teaching assistants with our local chapters!) and will provide the opportunity to ask questions about getting involved in a relaxed setting.”
