Arlington, Va.–based mProve Health was acquired by clinical trial technology company Bracket in a deal announced last week.

mProve Health, which makes mobile technology for life science companies, is combining with the Wayne, Pa.–based company that is bringing digital tools to clinical trials of new treatments or medical products.Founded in 2010 by entrepreneur Jeff Lee and pharmacologist Denis Curtin, mProve Health works with pharmaceutical companies and clinical research sites. One of mProve Health’s products is a platform that enables data collection during a trial via app or text. With the deal, mProve Health will retain its branding.

“Both organizations center on improving patient engagement and driving adoption of [mobile health] to do so. Together, we are well situated for a future of tech-enabled clinical trials,” Lee said in a statement.

Bracket, which was itself acquired by San Francisco–based Genstar Capital in March, has 700 employees spread across nine offices in the U.S., Prague and India. As a result of the acquisition, it will look to grow in D.C. mProve currently has 33 employees who will remain in Arlington. Bracket will look to double the team there in the next six months, CTO Sam Whitaker told our sister site Technical.ly Philly.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
