Power Moves: Check out these 3 new roles in the DC area this week

This week, a former Capital One executive heads to a fintech startup, and Cybrary hires a COO.

A few months after hitting the million-user milestone, Cybrary has a new C-level leader. The Greenbelt, Md.-based provider of online cybersecurity courses hired Kathie Miley as Chief Operating Officer. Miley previously worked in VP sales roles at Engame and Invincea, Inc.

“Cybrary has experienced significant growth over the last two years and is positioned to enter an accelerated, high-growth phase,” CEO Ralph Sita said in a statement. “Kathie’s experience, combined with her knowledge and reputation in the cyber security industry will be instrumental in taking Cybrary to the next level and we’re excited to have her on board.”

Fintech startup StreetShares is bringing in a former Capital One executive to grow its investment product offerings for small businesses. The Reston, Va.-based company hired Heather Tuason as Chief Product Officer. Tuason was previously Senior Vice President of Small Business at Capital One. She also previously worked at M&T Bank and Wells Fargo. StreetShares provides small business financing, and is focused on veteran-owned businesses.

Cybersecurity association (ISC)² said Brian Correia was promoted to managing director for the North American region. Correia joined the Alexandria, Va.-based regional office of the organization earlier this year as director of business development. The membership organization helps cybersecurity businesses get access to training and certifications for their employees.
