The weather is looking beautiful for Thursday. Who’s ready to hit the seas river?

humble ventures, a local “venture catalyst cooperative” (hmm), is hosting the pitch night for its spring cohort, in partnership with the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, on the Cherry Blossom Riverboat. As the boat cruises around, the founders of 13 startups will deliver their best three-minute pitches.

This spring 2017 cohort is humble ventures’ second — it includes companies founded by entrepreneurs from underrepresented backgrounds like kweliTV, The Mentor Method and more. Read this Medium post for bios of all the participating companies.

humble ventures is cofounded by Harry Alford, who previously worked as the managing director for the Alexandria-based outpost of Bunker Labs. Curious about what he’s up to now? Ready your sea river legs and RSVP here.
