WeWork will open not one, but two new DC locations this summer

That makes 10 in the D.C. market, second only to WeWork's presence in New York City.

Coworking giant WeWork announced on Tuesday that it’s opening two new locations in the District this summer. This means that, by fall, the company will boast a total of 10 spaces in the area.

The first of these two spaces is one we’ve already reported on — a space at 80 M Street SE in the Navy Yard that WeWork announced during the Washington DC Economic Partnership Annual Meeting in November. That location will be joined by another at 600 H Street NE. DC Inno reports that the H Street location will open in July and the Navy Yard one will open in August.

Both locations are outside the northwest quadrant of D.C. — the quadrant that is home to the vast majority of D.C.’s coworking spaces. As WeWork President and CFO Artie Minson told the crowd at the WDCEP Annual Meeting, D.C. is WeWork’s second largest market after its hometown of New York City. One imagines that these new spaces only augment that distinction.
