There are lots of “learning to code” events around D.C. There are also lots of “getting to know #dctech” events around D.C. What there’s less of? A combination of the two.

But that’s exactly what DC Web Women and The New York Code + Design Academy are teaming up to host next week. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 7, the Code(Her) workshop is billed as “an exciting seminar and coding event about breaking into the DC Tech ecosystem.”

Attendees will learn:

  • Best practices for developing a network,
  • How to get noticed, and
  • How to identify and approach opportunities.

And once all that’s been covered, there will be a little lesson in Javascript, too. The event will be hosted at NYCDA’s campus on 15th street and taught by NYCDA instructors. Don’t be fooled by the D.C. Web Women name — men are welcome to attend.
