TransitScreen, D.C.’s smart-cities company and No. 4 on our recent realLIST of promising startups, announced a national partnership with real estate development giant JLL. The partnership will see TransitScreen’s real-time displays of traffic, ridesharing and public transportation data installed in commercial office lobbies across the country.

“We’re thrilled to bring our technology to properties on a larger scale through our partnership with JLL,” TransitScreen wrote in a blog post, “giving tenants everywhere control over their commutes while promoting sustainable choices.”

This is far from TransitScreen’s first partnership deal. Back in September the company announced a partnership with digital jukebox maker TouchTunes. And then in November TransitScreen landed deals with MakeOffices, Discovery Communications and the National Institutes of Health.

Still, the partnership with JLL is undeniably a big one. JLL, aka Jones Lang LaSalle, manages more than 4.4 billion square feet of space (according to the TransitScreen blog post). That means close to 300 corporate offices that house 77,000 employees, all of whom have different commute needs.

“One of our top priorities is helping our office tenants live better lives, both at work and outside of the office,” Dan Pufunt, president of property management at JLL said in a statement. “Giving them access to the latest technology that simplifies their commute and showcases green transportation options is a top priority for us.”
