Back in September, dear reader, we threw together a quick poll, asking you to vote for your top 5 #dctech passion projects. Voting closed Sept. 26 but then, well, the line went dead. Our bad.
But even though we’re now in a brand new year (? 2017!), we want to take some time to share the results of the poll with you. Are readers awed by the fun of Social Tables’ ping pong invitational? Or struck by the creativity of pairing NPR stories with appropriate tunes? Or excited about data analysis from civic nonprofit District Ninja?
Of the 14 passion projects and creative side hustles we covered 2016 (plus some that are ongoing projects and one from way back in 2014), here’s which ones came in as the (reader voted) top five. As our editor-in-chief wrote in the post announcing the competition, this work brings “joy and awe and wonder to the vast hellscape that is the modern-day internet.”
And the winners are…
DC Tech Cal from Troy Crosby.
Congrats to these fine, creative, talented #dctech folks! Working on a new passion project or tech-related side hustle this year? You know what to do.-30-
