Phone2Action, an app that helps political organizers mobilize their base digitally, has added a new tool to its arsenal: the White House’s online petition platform.
Phone2Action users will be able to add their name to We the People campaigns directly through the app. After 100,000 signatures within 30 days, a petition on the platform will automatically prompt an official reply.
Based at WeWork Chinatown, Phone2Action also responded to President Barack Obama’s recent call to action to diversify the industry by launching a $250,000 civic tech education fund.
“Phone2Action’s digital advocacy platform has already helped people weigh in on more than 3,000 legislative issues they care about, and integration with We the People will further our mission to make civic engagement easier for all,” cofounder Jeb Ory said in a press release Tuesday.
