We recently toured the Smithsonian’s new “Innovation Wing,” which features technological inventions dating all the way back to the 18th century.

Now the National Museum of American History is taking its exploration of technology into the future.

On Sept. 26 and 27, it will host an Innovation Festival, featuring potentially game-changing technologies from 13 organizations in the public and private sectors.

Presenting companies include ZugaraWiperfill and Mars, Inc., which helped fund the $43 million Innovation Wing. Federal agencies include NASA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The festival, which will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, will also include activities, lectures and demonstrations.

The event is part of a five-year partnership between the Smithsonian and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office meant to highlight American innovation success stories.
