Philadelphia has more public murals than any city in the country. Now you can help add one more.

During Philly Tech Week, Mural Arts Philadelphia and local artist Sean Martorana are hosting interactive community paint sessions inside the Technical.ly Builders Conference. The work in progress: a new mural destined for a prominent wall in Old City, whose location will be announced that week.

The mural is inspired by Technical.ly’s 250-year vision for Philadelphia, a project imagining what the city should look like in 2276. Among its most urgent themes: Honor no tool before the people it serves. Martorana is incorporating products from generations of inventors while symbolizing the people who make our creations possible.

No painting experience necessary. Aprons and gloves provided.

Martorana has been a longtime agitator for injecting arts into Philadelphia’s tech and entrepreneurship circles, from styling otherwise drab tech offices, contributing to Old City’s N3rd Street identity and the arts inside Indy Hall, the coworking community.
